Let's talk about mods: a British scene that originated in London's Carnaby Street between boutiques and reached its peak in the 70s. Young individualists (modernists), mainly from the working class, created their own style to set themselves apart. Music, clubs, scooters and special clothing shaped their image. Mods fashion was a reaction to the previous generation and expressed a striving for style, sophistication and individuality. Our Polo Vintage Shirt is designed to embody this Mods style while maintaining a vintage-inspired look. The fashion was heavily inspired by Italian designers and the "La Dolce Vita" aesthetic. Our Mods Polo combines many of the ideas of the modernists: a polo-style jersey fabric, silky soft and lightly cut, rounded off by symmetrical lines on both sleeve ends.

Polo vintage shirt in Mods style
In order to be able to offer our Mods Polo in the usual best possible sustainable quality, we make it from 100 percent organic cotton. We know that 100 percent sustainability cannot be achieved due to long and opaque supply chains, but we do everything in our power to to minimize our footprint. When growing our cotton, we strictly adhere to the GOTS standards for organic cotton.
GOTS standard for high-quality cotton
GOTS stands for “Global Organic Textile Standard”. It is an internationally recognized standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. The GOTS standard defines high environmental requirements along the entire textile production chain and at the same time demands compliance with social criteria.
The production of GOTS-certified textiles must be environmentally friendly. This includes the avoidance of harmful chemicals such as toxic heavy metals, formaldehyde, aromatic solvents and functional nanoparticles.
The social criteria include, among others, the prohibition of child labour and forced labour, safe and hygienic working conditions, living wages, freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, and no discrimination.
The entire process, from the cultivation of the raw materials to the completion of the final product, is monitored by independent, accredited certification bodies. Every step in the supply chain must meet the GOTS criteria and is regularly checked.
GOTS-certified products must be clearly labelled so that consumers can understand the origin and quality of the products.
GOTS stands for sustainable and responsible production of textiles that meets high ecological and social standards. GOTS quality means that the product has been produced in an environmentally friendly and socially acceptable manner and is made from organic materials.
